The Virtues Of Green Coffee Beans

by admin on March 20, 2009

Any coffee fan knows that a really good cup of coffee is about so much more than knocking back caffeine in order to stay awake. There’s just something about a fresh, rich, aromatic cup of joe that makes it something to savor – an experience rather than just a drink!

It’s fairly common these days for espresso junkies and americano addicts to have a coffee machine to brew their own java at home instead of having to go out to (and pay inflated prices at) the nearest coffee shop. The variety of blends is staggering – and for an extra fresh brew, more and more people are opting to buy green coffee beans and grind them at home rather than choosing pre-ground coffee. That way, of course, you can grind just as many beans as you require, and enjoy the indescribable richness of freshly ground coffee every time. Perfect!

Organic Green coffee, though, seems to be the next big thing, as it takes the concept of coffee being raw and fresh even further. Instead of buying roasted coffee beans at marked up prices, more and more people are catching on to the idea of buying green coffee beans, which are basically how they start out, freshly picked from the budding Coffea plants. Usually at this point they are bought by the well known coffee corporations, who take care of the rest of the process for us – they roast coffee beans and either package them to sell on to consumers, or grind and brew them to bring thirsty customers their daily cappuccino.

Green coffee beans have not been roasted, and are not yet ready to be ground or brewed – a fact which obviously makes them worth a little bit less and so reduces the cost. By purchasing green coffee beans, you’re cutting out middle men all over the place! Not only that, but you’re getting the freshest brew that it’s possible to get (aside from just going and picking the beans for yourself, but most of us would rather skip that bit on an average day). Roasting it yourself is really simple, and means you get even more control over the strength of the roast and the quality of the resulting hot beverage.

And the more you buy, the more you save. If Buy green coffee beans in bulk saves you a lot of money. Maybe you like the idea but are worried that you would never use such a large quantity within the couple of years that it’s generally advised to do so? Well, you wouldn’t believe how many like-minded people are out there thinking the same thing! It can be quite good fun to club together with friends or even post a notice somewhere, starting up a green coffee club… everyone shares the savings, and everyone gets to enjoy a seriously good, fresh blend of coffee.

Whether yours is a café noir or a café au lait, it tastes so much better when it’s a fresh decoction, which is one of the obvious virtues of using green coffee. But not only does it taste great – it even has medicinal benefits! That’s one to save up for the next person who tries to lecture you about the ill effects of coffee. Green coffee bean extract is actually used for health purposes, and apparently has even stronger effects than green tea and grape seed extract as an antioxidants. So buy in your green coffee beans, save money, roast them to your own personal liking, and brew an ultra fresh cup of java, safe in the knowledge that it’s good for you.

That’s what they call a feel good experience!
